For patients with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), a critical bleed, such as intracranial hemorrhage or bleeding causing hemodynamic instability, requires urgent treatment to rapidly raise the platelet count and restore hemostasis. There is no standardized approach to this hematologic emergency.
