Analytical development in pre-pandemic preparedness is essential to achieve rapid, high-quality vaccine deployment under accelerated timelines such as the 100 Days Mission. Experience from COVID-19 demonstrated that analytics developed during a crisis introduce delays, variability, and regulatory complexity, whereas preestablished platform-adapted analytical systems enable immediate action once a pathogen is identified. This chapter outlines how fast, high-quality analytics depend on early assay development; antigen-agnostic or rapidly adaptable methods; platform-level definition of critical quality attributes; and mature workflows, standards, and reference materials. Digital transformation, including automation, AI/ML modeling, interoperable data systems, and cloud-based information sharing, forms a foundational layer that enhances reproducibility, reduces bottlenecks, and supports real-time decision-making.Preparedness also requires standardized comparability frameworks, robust stability-indicating assays, predictive shelf-life strategies, and early, well-structured technology transfer to National Control Laboratories (NCLs) to enable distributed, independent batch release. Regulatory resilience through reliance models, platform-based assessments, harmonization, and digital-ready submissions ensures that accelerated pathways can maintain scientific rigor while enabling global, equitable access. Collectively, these elements transform analytics from a rate-limiting step into a strategic enabler of rapid vaccine development. True preparedness demands analytical excellence to be established before a crisis so that speed, quality, and trust can be upheld during one.
